The Assemblyman for Nkawie electoral area in the Ashanti Region Opare Kwabena Charles is calling on government to give abandoned schools in the Atwima Nwabiagya District Assembly a facelift.
This, he appealed to the government to construct computer laboratories furnished with computers to enhance students’ education.
Speaking during the maiden edition of Ultimate Breakfast Show’s programme dubbed ‘Ask your DCE’, at Nkawie hosted by Lantam Papanko, the Assemblyman said schools in the area have been lagging behind in infrastructural developments.
According to him, students in the area compete with other students with the necessary educational facilities adding that the situation has the tendency of affecting their outputs during examinations.
He further asked for more boreholes in the area complaining that residents depend on only one borehole.
Mr Opare further appealed to government to provide the district with street lighting bulbs to prevent armed robbers from terrorising residents.
According to him, their road network is in a deplorable state affecting vehicular movement.
‘The road network is terrible especially when it rains, we are calling on government to repair the roads for us,’ he said.
He praised the DCE for renovating some of the dilapidated schools.
