Mr. Simon Madjie, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has paid a working visit to Olam Agri Ghana’s wheat milling facility in Kpone and toured the company’s soon-to-be-inaugurated state – of – the – art commissioned pasta production factory.
The visit forms part of GIPC’s continued engagement with key private sector players whose investments are contributing significantly to Ghana’s industrialisation, value addition, and food security agenda.
Mr. Madjie was welcomed by the management of Olam Agri, led by Mr. Raghav Mandhana, Regional Finance Controller, along with other members of the management team, and was conducted around the company’s state-of-the-art wheat mill and its key operational modules.
The delegation was taken through the end-to-end milling processes and engaged in mutual discussions on Olam Agri’s contribution to the country’s food supply chain and agro-industrial development.
As part of the tour, the GIPC CEO also visited the new pasta manufacturing facility, scheduled for commissioning next month. He was briefed on the progress of works and the operational readiness of the plant ahead of its official inauguration next month. The facility represents a strategic expansion of Olam Agri’s wheat value chain in Ghana, moving from flour production into downstream pasta manufacturing and further deepening local value addition.
Mr. Simon Madjie commended the scale and consistency of Olam Agri’s investment in Ghana’s agro-processing sector. “This is a clear demonstration of how private sector investment can drive industrial growth, create jobs, and strengthen local production capacity. Olam Agri’s expansion into pasta manufacturing is timely and aligned with Ghana’s broader agenda to promote value addition and reduce reliance on imports,” he noted.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for discussions around collaboration between GIPC and Olam Agri as the company continues to expand its processing footprint in the country.
Olam Agri’s wheat mill, established in 2012, has grown to become a critical pillar in the supply of quality flour to Ghana’s bakery and food industry. The addition of the pasta factory marks the next phase in the company’s long-term commitment to investing in Ghana’s food processing sector and supporting national efforts towards industrial transformation.
