The 2025/26 Premier League (GPL) season was one of the most competitive and memorable in recent years, with Medeama SC emerging as champions after finishing top of the table with 62 points, narrowly ahead of Gold Stars FC on 60 points.

Hearts of Oak secured third place with 54 points, while Dreams FC climbed into the top four with 52 points following a crucial victory over Holy Stars on the final day of the season. At the other end of the table, Nations FC, Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders were relegated to the Division One League.
Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders suffered immediate relegation after gaining promotion just a season earlier, while Swedru All Blacks became the only promoted side to retain their Premier League status, sealing survival with a 2-1 away win over Asante Kotoko.
Nations FC, who had been in the top flight since the 2023/24 season, finished 16th with 44 points and could not avoid the drop after three seasons in the league.
The season also produced several notable records and outstanding individual performances. FC Samartex goalkeeper Zakari Musah registered the cleanest sheets in the league with 17, while Hearts of Oak set a new Ghana Premier League record by keeping 24 clean sheets in 34 matches.
The Phobians also recorded seven away victories, the highest by any team during the campaign. Gold Stars FC established themselves as the strongest home side, becoming the only club to remain unbeaten at home throughout the season.
In terms of discipline, Aduana FC received the most red cards with six, while Vision FC, Heart of Lions and Eleven Wonders each accumulated four. Across the 306 matches played, a total of 627 goals were scored, matching the goal tally recorded during the 2021/22 season.

Dreams FC lead the league with 52 goals, followed by Goldstars SC 49, Asante Kotoko SC 46, Vision FC 41 and Bechem United FC 38.

Aduana FC leads with six red cards, whilst Vision FC, Eleven Wonders and Heart of Lions had four red cards respectively, with Berekum Chelsea and Hohoe United, Hearts of Oak, Goldstars and Basake all with three.
In total, there were 1054 yellow cards and 45 red cards.
General statistics 2025/26 season
Total matches played were 306, with 176 ending in won teams win, 50 away team wins and 80 games ending in a draw.
The season recorded 627 total goals, with 306 happening in the first half and 321 in the second half, whilst 19 of them were own goals. A massive 89 penalties were awarded, with 65 ending up at the back of the net and 24 missed.
Most clean sheets
Zakari Musah, FC Samartex 1996, leads the clean sheet log with 17, Felix Kyei, Medeama SC, follows with 15, Dubi Tayi Kassi, Basake Holy Stars, 14, Benjamin Asare, Hearts of Oak SC, 14 and Prince Osei, Aduana, 13.
Goal King of the Season
The Nasco King of the season winner was Salim Adams of Medeama SC with eight goals, Samuel Attah Kumi, Gold Stars SC, five goals, Richmond Opoku, Young Apostles FC, five goals, Prince Tweneboah, Basake Holy Stars FC, four goals and Emmanuel Annor, Nations FC, four goals.
