One Globe Foundation organises peace forum in Ayawaso East

Accra, Nov. 18, GNA – One Globe Foundation, a non-governmental organisation in the Ayawaso East Constituency, has organised a forum for parliamentary candidates in the area to pledge their commitment to peaceful elections.   The forum was on the theme: “The role of the youth and politicians in keeping peace in Ghana before, during and after2012 elections.”   Alhaji Haruna Zagoon, an Islamic scholar said it is the responsibility of every Muslim to promote peace in the area.   He said politicians who provoke violence should be discouraged and called on Muslims and non-Muslims to remain focus in the promotion of peace and unity.   Alhaji Zagoon spoke against ethnic politics and the use of intemperate language which have the tendency to disrupt the country’s peace.   Sheikh Hidri Adam, asked Ghanaians to strive to keep the nation united after the general election.   Mr Abubakar Alhassan, Parliamentary Candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party pledged to maintain and promote peace in his campaign before, during and after elections.   The Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress , Alhaji Nazer Toure Mahama and Alhaji Baba, Candidate of New Patriotic Party and Mrs Addoley, Candidate of Convention People Party were not present at the forum.   GNA...
