Eleven Wonders head coach Emmanuel Aidoo has revealed that his team arrived at the University of Ghana Stadium just 15 minutes before kick off for their Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko after their vehicle broke down, disrupting preparations for the game.
Wonders suffered a 2â0 defeat to the Porcupine Warriors on Wednesday, a result that left them rooted to the bottom of the league table with six points.
The late arrival meant the team had only a brief warm-up ahead of the fixture, placing them at a disadvantage against one of the division’s most seasoned sides.
Speaking after the match, Aidoo explained the logistical setback that affected his team’s build-up.
“We were late for the match because our bus broke down. We thought the fault was a minor one but we later realised that the fault was more serious than initially thought. So we had to find another car,” he said.
Peter Amidu Acquah opened the scoring in the 17th minute, capitalising on the visitors’ slow start.
Kotoko maintained their dominance as the game wore on and sealed the victory late in the encounter. Johnson Oppong Owusu struck in the 89th minute to double their advantage and confirm all three points.
