Ghana striker Jordan Ayew scored his first goal in 2026 on Monday night when Leicester City played against West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship.
In a Round 16 fixture played at the King Power Stadium, Ayew opened the scoring after just 18 minutes into the first half, showing great desire to convert a cut-back pass from Jordan James.
Before halftime, Sheffield United pulled parity in the 34th minute through a composed finish from Karlan Grant.
Jordan Ayew and his teammates will need to fight for a winning goal in the second half to amass all three points to fuel their promotion charge.
Ayew, 34, after his first goal in 2026, will be keen on scoring more throughout the year. Just two matches into the new year, he has one goal and one assist.
Last year, he scored 11 for both club and country, helping Ghana’s Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
