Swedru All Blacks snatched a dramatic late point after holding Nations FC to a 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League matchday 18 clash at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors looked on course for a priceless away victory when Suweidu Suhuyini Sulemana broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute.
Sulemana capitalised on a rare lapse in the All Blacks’ defence, calmly finishing to give Nations the lead and momentarily lift them clear of the relegation zone.
With time running out, the Black Magicians pushed numbers forward in search of an equaliser and were rewarded deep into stoppage-time.
Referee pointed to the spot after a foul inside the penalty area, and defender Zayat Bubakari kept his composure to convert from twelve yards, sending the home fans into celebration.
The result extends All Blacks’ resilient run, underlining their fighting spirit as they continue to distance themselves from relegation danger.
For Nations, however, the draw will feel like two points dropped, especially given their struggles on the road and how close they came to securing a vital win.
Both sides remain locked in the relegation battle as the season intensifies.
