Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak are on the brink of appointing Julius Ben Emunah as their new General Manager, Wontumi FM has reported.
Emunah, who recently his relinquished his role as the Director of Competitions for the Ghana FA is replacing Delali Anku-Adiamah following the expiration of his contract with the Phobians.
Anku-Adiamah was appointed Hearts of Oak General Manager in February 2024. Following the expiration of his contract, the club has decided to part ways with the football administrator.
However, the Ghanaian giants has reportedly turned to Emunah, a seasoned football administrator to take up the General Manager position.
With his wealth of experience, Hearts of Oak is confident Emunah can contribute significantly to the club’s growth administratively.
Emunah served the GFA in various capacities over the years, playing key roles in administration, safety, licensing, and competitions management.
He was Regional Administrative Manager for the Western Region Football Association between 2016 and 2020, a period during which he was instrumental in strengthening administrative structures and competitions within the region.
He later moved to the national level, where he served as National Safety and Security Officer and Club Licensing Manager from 2020 to 2024.
In that role, Ben Emunah was deeply involved in matchday safety coordination, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of CAF and FIFA club licensing requirements.
In January 2023, he was appointed Head of Competitions, a position he held in an acting capacity between 2023 and 2024 before continuing in the role until his resignation.
As Head of Competitions, he oversaw the organisation and management of domestic competitions, including the Ghana Premier League and other GFA-sanctioned tournaments.
Academically, Ben Emunah boasts a strong background that complements his administrative experience.
He holds a Global Master’s degree in Sports Management and Law from ISDE in Barcelona, Spain, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
