Communications director of Asante Kotoko Sarfo Duku has rubbished media reports that Karim Zito has been given a three-match ultimatum to improve results amid the club’s inconsistent performance in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors has struggled to grind results in their last two games, losing one and drawing one in the process. Zito is now under intense pressure to win the love of the fans, as the team gears up for their game against Bibiani Goldstars.
Kotoko takes on Goldstars in an away fixture at the Duns Park on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Reports went rife that the experienced tactician has been given a three-game ultimatum to save his job, but Duku in an interview with Akoma FM vehemently denied, stressing the entire team shoulders responsibility
“Zito has not been given any three-match ultimatum. Management is not rushing into any decision, stressing that team management is a collective responsibility involving the players, technical staff, and medical team”
“Any decision, if required, will only be taken after proper engagement, but for now, no such move is on the table” he said.
Asante Kotoko currently sit fourth of the Ghana Premier League standings, accumulating 31 points after 18 matches into the campaign.
