Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has opened up about the challenges of leaving the club earlier this season.
Amoah departed the Ghana Premier League giants for Libyan outfit Al Ahly Benghazi following Kotoko’s disappointing exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, where they suffered a heavy defeat to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the second preliminary round.
The 25-year-old has now returned to Kotoko on a loan deal for the remainder of the season. Speaking to the club’s media team, Amoah admitted that his departure had been difficult.
“It was difficult leaving, especially because of how it ended in Morocco. I didn’t even know how to respond to messages," he said.
"Knowing that so many fans are counting on me has given me a huge boost, and I hope to repay their faith," Amoah added.
Amoah is expected to feature when Kotoko take on Berekum Chelsea in their Matchday 20 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
