Head coach of Basake Holy Stars Johnson Smith has targeted a top-four finish in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Anyinase-based outfit remain just above the relegation zone following an inconsistent in the domestic top-flight. In matchday 20 of the top-flight, Holy Stars succumbed to a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors delivered an outstanding performance, with captain Samba O’Neil, Albert Amoah and Kwame Opoku registering their names on the scoresheet to propel Kotoko to victory.
Despite the setback, Johnson Smith has set an ambitious target to guide Holy Stars out of relegation and finish in the top-four at the end of the season.
“I’m confident we will survive relegation at the end of the season” he said after the match. “I’m targeting a top four finish with Basake Holy Stars”
Basake Holy Stars will play host to Berekum Chelsea in matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
