Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko is hurt losing star defender Kamaradini Mamudu to Al Hilal in the current transfer window, stressing his absence will deeply be felt.
The enterprising right-back secured a long-term move to the Sudanese giants this week, marking a significant step in his football.
Speaking to the club’s media team, the former Black Stars eulogized Mamudu, praising his character and professionalism, both on and off the pitch.
“Kamaradini is a fantastic person, not just on the field but outside it as well. He is very disciplined and committed,” Tanko said.
“It hurts to lose a player like him, but life goes on. He also has to move on and continue his career elsewhere.”
Despite acknowledging the void Mamudu’s departure creates, Tanko expressed confidence in Medeama’s ability to cope, stressing that the squad has adequate cover in the right-back position.
“We will definitely miss him, but we still have three right-backs who can step up and fill the gap,” he added.
“I wish him all the best and hope he succeeds at his new club just as he did here.”
Mamudu departs the domestic scene for greener pastures, with Medeama on top of the Ghana Premier League table, as the Yellow and Mauve pushes for the second league title in history.
He now begins a new chapter with Al Hilal, who currently top the Rwandan Premier League, with the Sudanese domestic competition disrupted due to the ongoing conflict in the country.
