Ghanaian midfielder Cletus Nombil has voiced his strong desire to earn a national team call-up, describing the prospect of representing the Black Stars as a "dream come true" that would be a profound honour for both himself and his family.
The 25-year-old, currently playing for FC ZlÃn in the Czech National League, has been a key performer for his club this season, making 18 appearances across all competitions despite the team's relegation struggles. The former Dreams FC player stands at 187cm tall and has established himself as a crucial presence in midfield.
Speaking about his ambition, Nombil highlighted the personal significance of playing for Ghana.
"It is every footballer’s dream to represent their country, to serve the nation and fulfil personal ambitions," he said. "For me, it is also about my family seeing me play for the national team and giving my absolute best for Ghana."
Nombil revealed that conversations with current Black Stars players have only intensified his motivation.
"We speak to some of the Ghanaian players already in the team, and they tell us what it means. That only strengthens my desire," he explained. "I am 100 per cent committed and ready to represent the Black Stars."
His commitment comes as he continues to build his professional profile in Europe, aiming to catch the eye of national team selectors and fulfil a lifelong dream of wearing the national colours.
