Kamaldeen Sulemana’s anticipated transfer from Atalanta has stalled, with the Italian club keen to retain the Ghana winger.
The 24-year-old had been linked with moves to Napoli and AS Roma during the winter transfer window amid limited playing time. Sulemana has featured in just 22 matches across all competitions this season, scoring twice.
Atalanta’s stance has strengthened following the departure of Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman to Atletico Madrid. The club now appears intent on keeping Sulemana, despite interest from other sides.
Insider Alessandro Giovanni Pagliarini reports that Napoli have agreed to a loan deal for Brazilian Alisson Santos from Sporting Lisbon, while AS Roma are set to sign Bryan Zaragoza from Celta Vigo.
These developments have further reduced the likelihood of Sulemana leaving before the midseason transfer window closes later tonight.
Sulemana joined Atalanta from Southampton on a five-year contract worth up to £18 million. The winger will now focus on securing a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
