Ghanaian winger Kwadwo Baah and Irish defender of Ghanaian descent James Abankwah will soon begin work under a new manager at Watford following the resignation of head coach Javi Gracia.
Watford have confirmed that Gracia stepped down with immediate effect, citing a loss of motivation despite the club’s belief that he was capable of leading their promotion challenge. The Championship side remain in a competitive position, sitting four points outside the play-off places with a game in hand and 17 matches still to play.
Charlie Daniels, Dan Gosling, and Adrian Mariappa will take temporary charge of the team for Tuesday’s league match against Hull City as the club searches for a permanent replacement.
As preparations continue, Baah and Abankwah will need to work hard to impress the incoming manager and secure their places in the squad. Watford remain confident in the quality of the group and believe the new coach can drive a strong push for promotion in the weeks ahead.
