âGhanaian winger Kingsley Schindler produced a sparkling display as Buriram United thrashed Cebu FC 6â0 in the ASEAN Club Championship group stage at Chang Arena.
Schindler scored Buriram’s third goal and added two assists in a dominant first-half performance that broke the visitors’ resistance early.
Buriram went ahead on 18 minutes when Sandy Walsh finished from close range after Schindler’s low cross from the right. Goran Causic doubled the lead just past the half-hour mark before Schindler coolly slotted in the third on 34 minutes following a pass from Theerathon Bunmathan.
Phitiwat Sookjitthammakul made it 4â0 before the interval, again profiting from Schindler’s service as Buriram overwhelmed Cebu with wave after wave of attacks.
After the break, substitute Nathakorn Rattanasuwan struck twice, on 64 and 90+1 minutes, to round off the 6â0 scoreline, with both goals assisted by Peter Zulj. Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Toku also started the game for Buriram United and lasted 60 minutes, contributing to the home side’s fluid attacking play.
The result continues Buriram’s fine form ahead of their next assignment away to Chengdu Rongcheng FC in the AFC Champions League Elite East on Tuesday, February 10.
