Nations FC are through to the quarter-final of this year’s FA Cup competition after triumphing over Swedru All Blacks in the round of 16 clash on Saturday.
The match, held at the DR. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex ended 2-1 in favour of Nations FC, ensuring their qualification to the last eight of the Cup competition.
Nations FC scored in either side of the pitch to secure victory over their Ghana Premier League counterparts. The Swedru-based club were banking on new coach Kasim Mingle’s experience to upset Nations FC, but the Abrankese-based club proved to be a stronger opponent.
The win sees Frimpong Manso’s outfit advancing to the quarterfinal of the Cup competition, whiles Swedru All Blacks bows out. Nations FC will look to build momentum as the competition heats up.
With this victory, Nations FC’s quest of securing the Cup competition for the first time in their history remain on course.
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup, All Blacks will shift their attention to the Ghana Premier League as they look to maintain their status in the top-flight.
