Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has highlighted the relentless work ethic of new Ghanaian signing Ibrahim Osman, commending the winger's immediate impact since joining the club on loan.
Osman, 22, made a dream debut by scoring the opening goal in Birmingham's 2-1 victory over Leicester City, dispossessing Ricardo Pereira before calmly finishing in the third minute. The win helped propel Birmingham to 10th place in the Championship table.
Speaking after the match, Davies praised Osman's dual qualities of attacking flair and defensive discipline. "He's been a great outlet for us; real speed, loves to be one v one. I want him to take risks. I love his positivity; I want him to keep that fearlessness," the manager said.
Davies reserved his strongest praise for the player's commitment without the ball. "But what I love most is that he combines that with hard work. He works hard for the team. He will run, he'll press, he'll do the dirty side of the game really well, and he did that."
Osman's arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion, following a loan spell at French side AJ Auxerre, has provided Birmingham with a dynamic and energetic option on the wing.
His debut performance, which also featured a spectacular goal from fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku for Leicester, suggests the winger is ready to become a key figure in Davies's squad as they push for promotion in the second half of the season.
