Kurt Okraku delivered a strong message of national backing as he paid a morale boosting visit to the Black Princesses during training ahead of their decisive FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
The Ghana Football Association president assured the squad that the entire country stands behind them as they prepare for a tie that could move them closer to another global appearance.
“We've come here not to show our support, but to reaffirm it. We want all of you to know that everybody in the country is supporting you on this journey,” Okraku told the players.
He stressed that the fixture represents more than qualification, highlighting the pride attached to representing Ghana at youth level.
“It also tells all of us and all of you how important this game means to Ghana. We know that the Princesses are a very good team. This we know.”
The Princesses reached this stage after eliminating Tunisia 4-0 on aggregate, winning both legs 2-0.
Ghana will host the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 8, before travelling for the return encounter scheduled for the following weekend abroad.
