Manchester United have intensified their interest in Ghana youngster Caleb Yirenkyi after sending scouts to watch the FC Nordsjaelland star in the Superliga against Sonderjyske.
The highly-rated midfielder has been attracting interests from clubs in England with Arsenal also joining the pursuit of the Right to Dream Academy graduate.
Yirenkyi's stock has risen in the past few months and he is viewed as the next biggest expert from the Denmark-based club, and could follow the paths of compatriots Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
According to TEAMTalk, Manchester United's director of football James Wilcox sent scouts to watch the Ghana international at the weekend.
The 20-year-old produced a Man of the Match performance to lead his side to victory following the return of the Superliga after the winter break. Yirenkyi scored and delivered an assist as Nordsjaelland inflicted Sonderjyske their fourth defeat of the campaign.
United, who are on a good run at the moment, view the versatile midfielder as a potential replacement for the departing Casemiro.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been monitoring the player and could make a move for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Also joining the chase are Brighton and Hove Albion, who had initially showed interest when United were interested in their Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba.
Yirenkyi is seen as a possible replacement for Baleba should the Indomitable Lion leave in the summer.
