Swiss-Ghanaian defender Gregory Wüthrich endured a difficult night as his red card proved the turning point in Young Boys’s 1â1 draw away to Grasshopper in the Swiss Super League.
The centre-back was first booked late in the first half before receiving a second yellow in the 67th minute, leaving his team to finish with ten men.
Young Boys had earlier taken control when Alvyn Sanches finished a flowing move on 31 minutes after clever work from Edimilson Fernandes, giving the visitors a deserved lead at Letzigrund.
Gerardo Seoane’s side looked comfortable for long spells, limiting Grasshopper to few clear chances and managing the game well before Wüthrich’s dismissal shifted the momentum.
The hosts eventually made the numerical advantage count as Maximilian Ullmann struck in the 79th minute to level the contest, denying Young Boys all three points despite a resilient rearguard effort in the closing stages.
In the 2025/26 Swiss Super League season, Wüthrich has made 11 appearances, with 0 goals and 0 assists so far. Young Boys now turn their focus to a tricky away trip to St. Gallen at Kybunpark.
