The CEO of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has made a passionate plea for the inclusion of defender Razak Simpson in the Black Stars squad, expressing full confidence in the player’s ability to perform at the international level.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Ansah emphasised Simpson’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to the national team as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“We know what he can deliver for the national team,” Ansah stated. “He’s a very solid player who can compete at the highest level globally.”
Simpson, who last played for Ghana in May 2025, has remained a consistent and disciplined presence at Nations FC. According to Ansah, his club performances have made him a strong candidate for a recall, especially after Black Stars coaches recently attended a Nations FC match to scout talent.
“I’m pretty sure Razak was one of the reasons they cameânot only to watch him but also to assess some of the other talents we have.”
Ansah’s endorsement comes at a pivotal time for both player and country, with Simpson expected to play a crucial role in Nations FC’s pursuit of a historic Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup double this season.
The public backing from his club’s leadership adds further weight to Simpson’s case, as Ghana's technical team continues to assess options ahead of upcoming international assignments.
