Dundee United midfielder Emmanuel Agyei has credited his development under coach Karim Zito as the defining chapter of his career so far. Agyei joined Dreams FC in October 2021 and made his competitive debut the following month, coming off the bench in a 3–1 away win over Elmina Sharks on November 7, 2021. The 21-year-old went on to play a key role in Dreams FC’s historic run to the semi-finals of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup, a campaign that earned him a place in the competition’s Team of the Week. Naturally deployed as a defensive midfielder or centre-back, Agyei says his tactical flexibility is a direct result of his time working under Zito, who regularly tested him in multiple roles. “Playing in every position under Coach Karim Zito at Dreams FC shaped my career, and I am truly thankful for the experience," he told Asempa FM. Agyei left Dreams FC in 2024 for Israeli Premier League side Ashdod, where he made 27 appearances across two seasons before securing a move to Scotland. Now at Dundee United, the Ghanaian has quickly established himself as a regular, starting seven of his eight appearances for the club so far.
