English-Ghanaian midfielder Malachi Boateng struck just before half-time as Plymouth Argyle swept aside Blackpool 4-0 at Bloomfield Road in a ruthless League One display.
With Argyle already two up thanks to goals from Alexander Mitchell on 30 minutes and Aribim Pepple in first-half stoppage time, Boateng added a classy third in the 45+4 minute, effectively ending the contest by the break.
Tom Cleverley’s side controlled the midfield from early on, Herbie Kane dictating play and providing the assist for Mitchell’s opener. Pepple then finished off a swift move to double the lead before Boateng arrived on the edge of the box to fire in Plymouth’s third, capping a dominant first-half performance from the visitors.
After the restart, Caleb Watts made it 4-0 on the hour, turning in Joe Edwards’ cross as Plymouth continued to punish Blackpool’s fragile defending.
Boateng’s all-action display, capped by his goal, underlined his growing influence in 2025/26, where he has now made 31 League One appearances with 3 goals and 4 assists.
Plymouth Argyle next travels to face Leyton Orient.
