Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has described his side's 1-0 victory over Young Apostles as a "very difficult" encounter, praising his players for their tactical discipline and defensive resilience.
Speaking after the Week 22 Ghana Premier League clash at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Stadium, Amissah admitted that breaking down a stubborn Young Apostles defence required a strategic shift.
"The game was very difficult," Amissah acknowledged. "How to unlock their defence was very tough, so we intentionally decided to sit back to defend and counter-attack."
The approach paid off in the 61st minute when Augustine Okrah found the back of the net, securing all three points for the Hunters in a tightly contested affair.
Amissah also highlighted his team's defensive organisation, particularly in the first half, as key to the victory.
"Taking into consideration how we were able to defend well, especially in the first half, I think they did very well."
"We are happy that at the end of the day we were able to win the game," he added.
The win lifts Bechem United to ninth in the league standings with 29 points, providing a foundation to build upon as the season progresses. For Amissah, the result is proof that adaptability and discipline can overcome even the most difficult challenges.
