The Ghana Football Association has granted the National Juvenile Committee (NJC) the authority to establish approved modalities for the registration of juvenile players, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of its Power to the Youth strategy to strengthen grassroots football development. The decision was taken at the Executive Council meeting held in January 2026, attended by all ten Regional Football Association chairmen. The Council formally mandated the committee to design and implement a standardized and transparent registration system for young players across the country, ensuring uniformity, accountability and alignment with the FA’s long-term development framework. Under the leadership of Chairman JoeSalam Abubakar, the National Juvenile Committee will develop comprehensive procedures, operational guidelines and compliance mechanisms to streamline the registration process. The framework will apply across all regions and age categories, enabling clubs, schools and football academies to follow consistent standards in registering, monitoring and managing juvenile players. The initiative is expected to enhance data integrity, improve talent identification structures and strengthen regulatory oversight at the grassroots level. It will also provide a reliable foundation for tracking player development pathways and supporting national team scouting programmes.
