Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has called for continued backing of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, praising his achievement of guiding the national team to consecutive FIFA World Cup qualifications.
Addo is currently in his second stint as head coach, having returned to lead the team through another qualification campaign. The former Ghana international previously guided the Black Stars to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has since overseen the team’s successful push to secure a place at the 2026 tournament.
"Otto Addo is the only Ghanaian to have qualified the Black Stars for two World Cups. Let’s respect and support him for that. He’s done well," Okraku said to Asaase Radio.
As part of preparations for the global showpiece, the GFA has strengthened the technical setup with five new appointments. Assistant coaches Alain Ravera, Kim Grant, and Kim Lars Björkegren have joined the bench, alongside analyst José Daniel MartÃnez Alfonso and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi.
The additions are aimed at reinforcing the team’s technical, analytical, and physical preparation as Ghana builds towards the 2026 World Cup.
Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
