Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has said that he is ever ready to honour Black Stars invitation as the team gears up for the 2026 World cup tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The former Eleven Wonders centre-back has been outstanding for the Phobians this season, making several appearances in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
As part of the ongoing mission to identify quality players to beef up the national team for the World Cup, the Black Stars technical team led by Otto Addo attended the high-stake Premier League clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
And the rock-solid Hearts of Oak defender was one of the few players who produced an eye pleasing performance.
Speaking to Kessben FM, Osei Asibey left the door open for Black Stars invitation, while promising to work hard to grab the attention of the national team coaching staff.
“For me, players plying their trade in the domestic league also deserve Black Stars call up. As a citizen of this great country, I’m ever ready to honour Black Stars invite. In the meantime, I will continue to do my best for my club” he said.
The Ghana Premier League showdown at Baba Yara Sports Stadium ended 1-0 in Hearts of Oak’s favour, thanks to Baba Adamu’s early strike. The win saw the Phobians move to the second position on the league log with 39 points after 22 matches into the campaign.
