Ghanaian defender Nurudeen Abdulai produced a swashbuckling performance for Dunfermline Athletic in their Scottish Championship clash against Partick Thistle on Wednesday night.
The former Medeama marksman started and lasted 88 minutes, as his outfit settled for a 2-2 draw against their opponent in a highly competitive clash, held at the KDM Group East End Park.
Nurudeen played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet, contributing to the sides’ comeback stalemate against Partick Thistle on home turf.
The visitors opened the scoring through Logan Chalmers after just 15 minutes into the encounter, as they went to the halftime break with a slender advantage.
Five minutes into the second half, the host restored parity inspired by the Ghanaian centre-back. But Partick Thistle found the net again through Alex Samuel to restore their lead in the match after being set up by Tony Watt.
Partick Thistle were cruising to a crucial away win until Kieran Ngwenya netted deep into stoppage time to secure a vital point for the host.
The 21-year-old fast-rising defender joined the Scottish second-tier outfit last summer from Medeama SC and has since established himself as a key member of the team.
In the current campaign, Nurudeen Abdulai has made 16 appearances for Dunfermline Athletic, scoring one goal in the process. Across competitions, he has racked up 19 appearances for his outfit, underlining his importance to the team.
