Ghanaian midfielder Edwin Quarshie was in fine form in the French Ligue 2 on Saturday afternoon, finding the back of the net to help Le Mans secure a resounding home win over Annecy FC.
The 30-year-old midfielder played a decisive role as Le Mans cruised to an emphatic 3-0 victory over their opponents, strengthening their push for promotion to the French top-flight.
Le Mans got off to a flying start, with France international Antoine Rabillard opening the scoring just 16 minutes into the encounter at the Stade Marie-Marvingt.
The hosts continued their dominance as French attacker Erwan Colas doubled the lead before halftime, sending Le Mans into the break firmly in control.
After the restart, Quarshie put the result beyond doubt when he found the back of the net in the 65th minute to seal the comprehensive victory for the home side.
With the win, Le Mans’ promotion bid remains on course. The team currently sit third in the league standings with 44 points after 26 matches.
The experienced Ghanaian midfielder has made 24 appearances in Ligue 2 this season for Le Mans, scoring once and providing one assist.
