Otto Addo has expressed confidence that Antoine Semenyo is only just getting started on his trophy-winning journey, with the Black Stars head coach predicting more success for the forward following his Carabao Cup triumph in England.
Semenyo arrived in the Ghana camp in Vienna on Monday to begin preparations for upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany, but his latest achievement was front and centre as teammates and technical staff marked his arrival with a guard of honour.
The 26-year-old played a decisive role in Manchester City’s 2â0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium, securing his first major honour since a January move that has elevated his profile on the global stage.
Addo was quick to acknowledge the forward’s contribution and also looked ahead with optimism, suggesting that Semenyo’s success in England is far from over.
"First of all, again, I would like to congratulate you for winning this cup. Hopefully not the last cup this season," Addo told the forward.
"You still have some chances, I think. Really, really good work, what you have done, but also your team. We would like to congratulate you on that."
Since his move from Bournemouth, the forward has quickly integrated into a title-chasing squad still active in multiple competitions, including the Premier League and FA Cup.
