Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has showered praise on Antoine Semenyo, commending the forward for his âgood work’ following his recent silverware success in England.
The tribute took place on Monday as Semenyo joined the Ghana national team camp in Vienna to prepare for upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Addressing the squad during the team’s first session, Addo personally congratulated the 26-year-old attacker for winning the Carabao Cup with Manchester City.
Semenyo played a pivotal role in City’s 2â0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium just 24 hours prior to reporting for international duty.
In a show of solidarity, his Black Stars teammates and technical staff welcomed him with a guard of honour to mark the historic achievement.
"First of all, again, I would like to congratulate you for winning this cup. Hopefully not the last cup this season," Addo told the forward.
"You still have some chances, I think. Really, really good work, what you have done, but also your team. We would like to congratulate you on that."
The head coach’s remarks highlight Semenyo’s rapid ascent since his high-profile move from Bournemouth in January.
As Addo noted, the forward remains in contention for further trophies, with Manchester City still competing for the Premier League title and the FA Cup.
Semenyo has now shifted his focus to national duty as Ghana enters the final stretch of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
