Ghana FA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum believes Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer’s background in German football could prove crucial as Ghana prepare for friendlies against Austria and Germany.
The Hamburg forward, who received a late call-up to the squad, is seen as a player familiar with the style and demands of both opponents.
“He is not new to the two teams we are playing. Most of these Austrian players play in Germany, and we will also play against Germany, where he was born,” Asante Twum said on CitiSports.
He added that Konigsdorffer’s experience across different levels of German football gives him a strong understanding of the tactical approach and intensity expected in the upcoming matches.
“He’s been in different leagues in Germany,” he noted.
The 24-year-old’s familiarity with the environment is expected to provide the Black Stars with an added edge as they fine-tune preparations for the international friendlies, which form part of the team’s build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
