The Black Stars’ preparations in Vienna were overshadowed by a robbery at their team hotel ahead of today’s international friendly against Austria, a reliable source has told Sporty FM.
Ghana’s senior national team began their camp on Sunday, with training sessions starting Monday.
After their third session on Wednesday, two players reported that their Rolex watches, valued at $20,000, had been stolen.
The following day, a technical team member also discovered that $2,250 in cash was missing.
Team officials immediately involved local authorities, but efforts to review security footage were hindered after hotel management cited faulty cameras.
Despite the unsettling events, the Black Stars are set to face Austria at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion this evening, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
Otto Addo and his charges will then travel to Stuttgart to take on Germany on Monday, March 30. Both friendlies are crucial for fine-tuning ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
