Viktoria Plzen head coach Martin Hysky has praised Ghana forward Prince Adu Kwabena for returning from the March international break as a completely different player, following an impressive display against league leaders Slavia Prague.
The 22-year-old earned his first start since early March in Sunday’s hard-fought 0â0 draw, leading the line with renewed sharpness and intent. Hysky believes the forward’s ambition to represent Ghana at the World Cup has fuelled his transformation.
“After returning [from the international break], I saw a different player. He has a big ambition â to represent Ghana at the World Cup. If he continues like this, he will be very important for us in the rest of the season,” Hysky said.
Adu emerged as one of Plzen’s most dangerous attacking outlets, a marked improvement from his struggles in the previous defeat to ZlÃn. Hysky highlighted the forward’s game-changing potential despite missing a key chance.
“We all know what he is capable of. He’s a game-changing player who can rise to big occasions. He was one of our most dangerous players today. It’s just unfortunate he couldn’t convert his chance after a great individual run.”
Prince Adu Kwabena has recorded seven goals and one assist in 37 appearances across all competitions this season. With Plzen pushing for a strong finish, the Ghanaian’s form could prove vital in the coming weeks.
