Black Stars duo Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu have been unveiled as the central figures in X1’s activation drive following the brand’s new partnership with the Ghana Football Association.
The two players will serve as the public face of X1’s engagement with both the Black Stars and the Division One League Super Cup, marking a key element of the five-year agreement between the FA and the performance beverage company.
Their involvement goes beyond traditional endorsement roles. Both Mensah and Owusu have also been named as equity partners in the brand, a move designed to deepen local ownership and align the players directly with the long-term vision of the initiative.
The partnership, officially launched in Accra, positions X1 as the Official Performance Partner of the Black Stars and the Division One League Super Cup, with a focus on improving performance standards at the top level while strengthening the domestic game.
Mensah and Owusu are expected to lead promotional campaigns, community outreach programmes and grassroots engagements tied to the partnership. Their profiles as established internationals are seen as a bridge between elite football and emerging talent across the country.
The inclusion of the two players also reflects a deliberate strategy to connect the brand with Ghana’s football identity at a deeper level, particularly as the Black Stars prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For the Division One League Super Cup, their role is expected to bring increased visibility and credibility to the competition, which serves as a platform for developing clubs and players.
By placing Mensah and Owusu at the centre of its campaign, X1 is seeking to combine performance, visibility and grassroots impact, aligning its brand with both the present and future of Ghana football under its new partnership with the FA.
