Italian giants Juventus have reportedly emerged as the front-runners to sign Austrian-Ghanaian defender Samson Baidoo ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old, who plies his trade for French Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens has attracted significant interest following his swashbuckling performance this season, with European heavyweights including Juventus jostling for his signature.
Aside Juventus, fellow Italian powerhouse Inter Milan are said to have expressed firm interest in the enterprising defender.
Despite Inter Milan’s interest, Juventus are reportedly leading the chase. The Turin-based club are believed to be positioning themselves early to secure a deal before competition intensifies further in the summer window.
Currently valued at around â¬30 million, Baidoo’s price tag reflects both his potential and the growing demand for young, versatile centre-backs in the European market. With multiple clubs circling, a bidding war could soon emerge if Lens decide to cash in.
While no formal negotiations have been confirmed, the situation is expected to develop quickly as clubs begin shaping their summer transfer plans. For Baidoo, the coming months could mark a decisive step in his career, with a move to one of Europe’s top leagues now firmly on the horizon.
This season, the rock-solid defender has made 21 appearances across competitions for RC Lens, who are chasing the French Ligue 1 title, scoring two goals and providing two assists across the period.
