The Ghana Football Association (GFA) remains non-committal regarding potential nationality switches for the Black Stars, despite the recent appointment of Carlos Queiroz as head coach.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum indicated that while discussions are ongoing, no roster additions have been finalized.
“New faces in terms of players? I don’t know. No decision has been firmed up yet,” Twum told journalists at a forum discussing World Cup coverage.
He emphasized that the technical transition is still in its early stages following the departure of Otto Addo. “The coach has just taken over. He [Carlos Queiroz] has been engaging, he’s been talking.”
Queiroz, who was appointed earlier this month to lead Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, is currently evaluating the talent pool.
While defender Patric Pfeiffer recently completed his transition from Germany, rumors persist regarding other European-based players of Ghanaian descent.
The Black Stars are entering a critical preparation phase, with a provisional World Cup squad expected by mid-May.
Ghana is set to face Mexico and Wales in friendlies before their tournament opener against Panama in Toronto on June 17.
