Ecuadorian-Ghanaian forward John Yeboah was on target as Venezia were held to a 2-2 draw away to Spezia in Serie B on Friday afternoon.
Yeboah needed just seven minutes to make his mark, racing onto Issa Doumbia’s pass before finishing calmly to give the visitors a dream start at Stadio Alberto Picco. He later had a golden chance to double the lead from the spot, but his first-half penalty was saved to keep Spezia alive.
Venezia looked in control when Richie Sagrado made it 2-0 on 70 minutes, turning in Michael Svoboda’s assist to cap a dominant spell from the promotion-chasing Lagunari. But Spezia hit back late, with Mattia Valoti pulling one back in the 73rd minute before Gabriele Artistico struck a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser to deny Venezia all three points.
Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Nikolas Nartey has also played a key role in Venezia’s promotion push this season, producing 10 goals and 8 assists in 33 Serie B appearances in 2025/26.
Venezia now turn their attention to their final league game at home to Palermo on Friday, May 8.
