Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has opened up about Kobbie Mainoo’s outstanding form for his side in recent matches.
The England-born midfielder of Ghanaian descent has been one of the team’s best players since Carrick took charge of the side as interim manager.
In the last two matches against Chelsea and Brentford, Kobbie Mainoo has been almost unplayable, starring on both occasions and helping the team to claim important wins.
According to Michael Carrick, the 21-year-old has hit top form largely because he has been allowed the opportunity to thrive in the team by being himself.
"It's letting Kobbie Mainoo thrive, giving him platform to be himself, more belief. He is adding to his game.
"There is loads more to come. Natural evolution is a new contract. Everyone over the moon. Hope he is here a long time, part of a team who wins trophies,” Michael Carrick said in his pre-match interview ahead of the match against Liverpool this weekend.
Mainoo will be expected to start in midfield for Manchester United in the upcoming fixture scheduled for Sunday, May 3.
