Black Starlets have arrived in Rabat ahead of the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations and immediately began preparations for the tournament with their first training session on Monday.
After reaching the Moroccan capital, the team took part in the mandatory Team Arrival Meeting organised by tournament officials. The session focused on competition regulations, tournament structure, marketing activities, digital media responsibilities and the expected conduct of team officials during the championship.
The meeting also provided operational guidelines for participating nations as preparations continue for the start of the tournament.
Following the briefing, the Black Starlets held a one-hour, 30-minute training session as head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff intensified preparations for Ghana’s opening match. All players trained fully with no injury concerns reported. The session included tactical drills, possession exercises and recovery work.
Ghana arrived in Rabat after completing a pre-tournament camp in Mohammedia, where they played a preparatory match against Mali.
The Black Starlets have been drawn in a difficult group alongside Algeria, Senegal and South Africa. Ghana will open their campaign against Algeria on May 14, before facing Senegal on May 17 and South Africa on May 20.
