Bechem United forward Augustine Okrah is finishing the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season in blistering form, firmly establishing himself as one of the standout performers in the domestic campaign.
The experienced attacker is on course to secure a second Ghana Premier League Golden Boot, 12 years after first achieving the feat with Bechem United during the 2013/14 season.
Okrah currently tops the scoring charts with 15 goals, boosted by a brace against Asante Kotoko over the weekend.
With one match remaining, he leads Samuel Attah Kumi of Bibiani Gold Stars and Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles, who both sit on 13 goals and remain in contention heading into the final round.
Back at the club where he first made his name, Okrah has rediscovered his sharpness in front of goal, this time operating as a central attacking threat rather than the deeper role he once occupied.
In his first Golden Boot-winning season, he scored 16 goals while mainly playing as an attacking midfielder.
Bechem United conclude their campaign against Berekum Chelsea, a fixture that could decide whether Okrah adds another individual honour to his decorated career.
The forward’s form has also reignited discussion around his national team prospects. Recently involved with the Black Galaxies in preparations for Olympic qualifiers, Okrah continues to be monitored closely amid Ghana’s search for attacking options ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
Despite being left out of the Black Stars squad for the friendly against Mexico under coach Carlos Queiroz, Okrah responded emphatically with his weekend double against Kotoko at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Queiroz has previously indicated that locally based players would be given opportunities to compete for places, and Okrah’s consistency has placed him among those pushing strongly for consideration.
The forward brings a wealth of experience to the conversation, having played across multiple leagues, including stints with Young Africans, NorthEast United, Smouha, Al Hilal, and Al-Merrikh SC.
His impact at Bechem United has also been formally recognised, with a stand at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park named in his honour â a testament to his long-standing contribution to the club.
Ghana, set for their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn against Panama, England and Croatia
