Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has resumed full training as he steps up efforts to secure a new club ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The 25-year-old is currently without a club following the termination of his contract by ACF Fiorentina, with recurring injury concerns bringing his spell in Italy to an early end.
Lamptey joined Fiorentina in 2025 from Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-year deal after leaving the Premier League outfit. However, his time in Florence was hampered by fitness setbacks, limiting him to just two appearances and a total of 25 minutes on the pitch.
The former Chelsea FC right-back struggled to establish himself in the squad before another injury setback further stalled his progress.
Having now fully recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Lamptey has returned to training and is focused on finding a new team as preparations for the upcoming campaign gather pace.
His return to fitness comes as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Despite his recovery, Lamptey was not included in the final 26-man squad named by coach Carlos Queiroz for the global tournament.
