The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Kassim Ocansey Mingle as head coach of the national U17 team for players born in 2010.
Mingle will lead the technical team responsible for preparing the side for this year's WAFU B U17 Championship qualifiers. He will be assisted by Hamza Mohammed, while Stephen Ahorlu has been named goalkeepers coach, and Waisu Ali Mohammed will serve as team manager.
The newly constituted technical team has already begun work, with a nationwide scouting exercise underway to identify eligible players from schools, colts clubs, academies and community teams.
The exercise will cover all 10 football regions, giving players born in 2010 the opportunity to earn a place in the national team ahead of the regional qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, who guided the 2009-born U17 team earlier this year, has been tasked with overseeing preparations for the next cycle involving players born in 2011.
The former Asante Kotoko coach will begin monitoring emerging talents and coordinating scouting activities ahead of the team's assembly next year as part of the GFA's long-term youth development plans.
