Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe have combined for six goals at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making them the most prolific duo in the tournament over the past 60 years.
According to Opta, the Paris Saint-Germain teammates have assisted each other six times in France's three group-stage matches â four assists from Dembele to Mbappe and two from Mbappe to Dembele. This puts the French pair ahead of any other attacking partnership in the competition since the 1966 World Cup.
Dembele has been a creative force on the right flank, providing a tournament-leading four assists to Mbappe, who has scored six goals so far. Their chemistry has been the driving force behind France's impressive start to their World Cup title defence.
France won all three of their group matches, scoring 10 goals in the process. Les Bleus also beat Sweden 3-0 in the round of 32 on July 3. They will face Paraguay on July 5, 2026, in the round of 16.
Their partnership continues to break records and deliver on the biggest stage, with both players complementing each other's strengths. Mbappe's movement and finishing combined with Dembélé's dribbling and crossing has been devastating for opponents.
The French duo will be hoping to continue their remarkable partnership as Les Bleus chase a third World Cup title and the first back-to-back triumph since Brazil in 1962.
