Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea FC have appointed former Bechem United manager Kwaku Danso as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The experienced domestic tactician joins the former league champions to take over technical duties following the departure of Samuel Boadu, who recently left the Berekum-based club to join regional rivals Aduana FC.
Danso arrives with significant local pedigree, having previously managed Bechem United in the top flight, where he earned a Coach of the Month accolade for his tactical approach.
He makes the switch to the Premier League side directly from lower-tier division outfit Rainmakers FC, where he spent one year steering team development.
Aside from his football career, Danso is highly respected in the community as the current Headmaster of Berekum Senior High School (BESS).
The management of Berekum Chelsea expressed confidence that Danso’s deep knowledge of the domestic game and background in leadership make him the ideal candidate to rebuild the squad.
His immediate mandate will be to stabilize the team, intensify pre-season preparations, and guide the "Bibires" toward a competitive campaign in the upcoming top-flight league.
Rainmakers FC have officially released an emotional farewell statement confirming the move, thanking Danso for his dedicated service and wishing him success in this major career step.
Club officials expect Danso to assume full control of first-team training immediately as the transfer window progresses.
