Ghanaian left-back Issaka 'Baba' Seidu has expressed delight after joining Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Goteburg.
The 20-year-old signed a season-long loan deal to join Goteburg from Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland in the summer transfer window.
The Swedish side have the option of making the deal a permanent one at the end of the season.
"It is a great opportunity for me to come to IFK Göteborg and the environment that exists here. I have heard a lot of good things about Blåvitt and am looking forward to becoming a part of the club," said the defender after completing the move.
Baba Seidu, a versatile player who can also play as a midfielder and an offensive winger, has already garnered experience playing in Sweden after spending the second half of last season with Ljungskile.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate helped Ljungskile gain promotion from the Superettan to the Allsvenskan after making 13 appearances last season.
Baba Seidu scored a goal and delivered an assist during his time at Ljungskile, raising the eyebrows of clubs from the top division with his superlative performances.
"Our scouting team has had its eyes on him for a long time and has deepened its scouting with the opportunity to follow him closely over the past six months. Baba plays primarily as a full-back and points our competition on the wings," said Jesper Jansson, the football director of IFK Gothenburg.
"There is plenty of time to evaluate him and if we want to make the transfer permanent in the future, there are conditions for that. It feels exciting to bring Baba to us, not least considering the great interest that has existed from several other clubs."
He is expected to join his new teammates in the coming days to begin preparations ahead of the campaign.
