Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has reaffirmed his commitment to Swiss side St. Gallen, insisting his full focus remains on the club despite speculation linking him with a move elsewhere following his impressive performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars goalkeeper, who is under contract until June 2027, says he is looking forward to another campaign with the Swiss Cup winners, who have qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
"I still have a running contract with St. Gallen, and currently I'm focusing on that. I'll be playing in Europe with St. Gallen next season, and I hope to make myself and the club proud," Ati-Zigi told Sporty FM.
St. Gallen will face Portuguese giants Benfica in the second qualifying round of the Europa League after lifting the Swiss Cup, with Ati-Zigi playing a key role in the club's triumph.
The 29-year-old enhanced his reputation during the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He started Ghana's opening group game against Panama and produced a solid display before suffering an injury that ruled him out of the next two matches.
Ati-Zigi returned in the Round of 32 clash against Colombia after replacing the injured Benjamin Asare. Despite Ghana's 1-0 defeat and elimination from the tournament, the former Sochaux goalkeeper delivered an outstanding performance, making a string of crucial saves to keep the Black Stars in the contest. He was widely regarded as Ghana's best player on the day.
His displays for both club and country have naturally attracted attention, but Ati-Zigi has made it clear that he remains fully committed to St. Gallen as he prepares for another season in Switzerland and the challenge of European football.
