Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has revealed that his greatest ambition is to help Ghana end its long wait for major international silverware, insisting that winning the Africa Cup of Nations with the national team would be the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his composed displays earned widespread praise and established him as one of Ghana's standout performers.
With attention now turning to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, Sibo believes the Black Stars have the quality and leadership to end the country's 45-year wait for continental success.
"There's always one thing that I want to feel in my heart. I want the nation to also feel it in their heart. It's to win a cup for the nation," Sibo told 3Sports GH.
"I think it's been ages since Ghana won a cup. AFCON is coming and that's a dream. I want that dream to manifest.
"I believe in the team. I believe in the coaching staff of Carlos Queiroz that he can make that dream happen for every Ghanaian who has been waiting for ages to see Ghana win a cup."
Ghana last lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982 and have since endured decades of heartbreak despite reaching several finals and semi-finals.
Sibo's confidence reflects the renewed optimism surrounding the Black Stars following their encouraging showing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Although Ghana exited the tournament in the Round of 32 after a narrow defeat to Colombia, the team impressed with disciplined performances throughout the competition.
The midfielder played a key role during the tournament after making a strong impact from the bench in Ghana's opening victory over Panama before earning a starting place against England, where he delivered an assured display against one of the tournament favourites.
His performances have strengthened his place in Carlos Queiroz's squad ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers and the continental showpiece.
