Cork City manager Barry Robson has highlighted Joe Aidoo’s experience and qualities after welcoming the Ghanaian midfielder to the club.
Aidoo has joined Cork City on an 18-month contract from Saudi Arabian side Al-Sharq, becoming the latest addition to Robson’s squad.
The 26-year-old arrives with a wealth of international experience, having played in Ghana, Cameroon, India, Nepal and Saudi Arabia.
Robson believes Aidoo’s background and number of matches played will be valuable as Cork City look to strengthen their squad.
“Joe is a versatile and energetic midfielder who has an eye for a pass. At 26, he's another experienced player who has plenty of games under his belt,” Robson said.
The manager also praised the midfielder’s professionalism during the transfer process, revealing that Aidoo maintained his fitness while waiting for the necessary paperwork to complete his move.
“He’s been working very hard himself while waiting for the paperwork to come through, so we are looking forward to getting him in to train with the lads now that he has arrived,” Robson added.
Aidoo’s arrival gives Cork City another experienced option in midfield, with Robson confident the Ghanaian can quickly integrate into the team.
The club will now hope the former Al-Sharq player can use his experience to make a positive impact during the second half of the season.
